Job Location: Stoke on Trent Council
Salary: £14.61 per hour
Working Period: Monday – Friday
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Assignment Period: 6+ months (temporary contract)

Job Purpose
To have individual responsibility, or shared responsibility accompanied by an Attendant Driver, in accordance with the practices and procedures of the Local Authority for clients while assisting to transport them to Adult Social Care and educational establishments (for example, day services, luncheon clubs, training centres).
Key Duties / Responsibilities
To engage with people using positive approaches, enable people to safely use in house transport and empower people who have learning/physical disabilities to access their community
To be responsible for making your own way to and from the pre-arranged pickup and drop point at the arranged times.
To follow all Policy and Procedures and record using agreed procedures.
To communicate with family, carers, professionals and establishments to ensure continuity of support & wellbeing for the individual.
To follow individual support plans, protocols and risk assessments to ensure health, safety and wellbeing is maintained at all times. This will include ensuring all people are seated safely and securely throughout the journey utilising any equipment aids and adaptions.
To collect and safeguard the person’s belongings, medication and monies.
To participate in training, other learning activities and performance development.
The routes vehicles take to transport individuals are reviewed periodically as circumstances relating to clients change, in the event of this happening, your employment situation will be reviewed in accordance with the City Council’s agreed policies operational at that time.
Any other duties appropriate to the post.
