About the Role

As a Disrepair Officer, you will:

  • Investigate and resolve statutory disrepair cases, working closely with tenants, legal representatives, and contractors.

  • Conduct detailed property inspections, produce expert reports, and provide evidence in court when necessary.

  • Develop comprehensive specifications of work, risk assessments, and cost-effective repair plans.

  • Supervise contractors and oversee the quality and safety of repair works to ensure value for money.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high standards of service.

  • Monitor performance, analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for a professional with:

  • Proven experience in managing disrepair cases, structural repairs, and insurance claims.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Housing Disrepair Protocol and health and safety regulations.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce expert reports, specifications, and feasibility studies.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing building defects and specifying appropriate remedial works.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, particularly when dealing with legal and technical matters.

  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and driving service improvements.

You should be confident working independently, managing a diverse caseload, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure housing standards are met.
